Steve Webb was born and raised in the 59th district, giving him a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of the area. He is running for the Illinois Senate to bring needed change to Springfield by making our government work for working families instead of wealthy special interests and career politicians.
Steve Webb is a veteran school administrator, police officer, and the founder of a consulting service that helps schools and communities enhance their safety practices and procedures. He is a nationally known school safety expert who has presented at state and national conferences and workshops.
Webb has been President of both the Illinois Association of School Administrators and the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools and represents Illinois on the American Association of School Administrators Governing Board and is a member of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services Child Death Review Board. He is a certified ALICE Active Shooter Response Instructor and an Associate Professor in Educational Administration at Southern Illinois University, Eastern Illinois University, and McKendree University – specializing in education law and policy.
A lifelong resident of the district, Webb graduated from Goreville High School in 1987. He played collegiate basketball at John A. Logan College and then at McKendree University, studying to become a biology teacher and athletic coach. Webb resides in Johnson County with his wife, Angie and their children, where he operates a farm.
